snakes on a plane ala mo

this shot, taken from the space station i am guessin, just came into the monewsisgoodnews news room studio. from what i can make out, looks like one o the planes that just recently took off from here has been taken over by snakes and some woman is at the helm. i'll blog on back over here and let you know if i hear anything else about this or get any more shots in.

mason & me

i use mason jars for storin just about everything and ever since jo and mini's daddy's party, find em my favorite vessel for the blooms from my garden. they are cheap and work well for someone like me....a pig who needs to see everything or else i forget i have it but at the same time i want everything to be neat and in it's proper place all the time. i like the wide mouthed ones best as the other ones are really too small to cram my hand into. i screw on the brass lid but leave the tops off cause i'd never take the whole thing off to get stuff out and certainly not to put things back.

they are great in case of last minute gift givin emergencies too cause i can just load one up with anything that looks nice and tie a ribbon around the top and i end up with a pretty lil present! one year mini and i filled batches of wm up with hot chocolate mix ans gave em as presents from old saint nick and we always use em for valentine's day - filled with conversation hearts. we use em often filled with sand and candles, all up the driveway or with wire wrapped around the mouths and hung from the trees. and of course they get worked really hard in the kitchen and pantry! in the doo dad den, where i have over a hundred stocked with doo dads of all sorts - visitors find studyin the contents quite entertainin...i must admit i like sittin and lookin at em from across the room myself! if you don't have any of these lil jewels be sure to pick some up next time you are passin by the hardware store - you can get a case of for nearly nothin and i am pretty sure you'll find more uses for em than you can imagine. i do believe they are just about the most versatile item i can think of!

mini's sunflower stockin'

i sure appreciate everyone's emails and messages tellin me they understand me not bloggin many words and mostly peeper presents til mini goes back to school! thank you thank you!

so here's today's picture for you to peek at...another o the stockin's i have made for my mini. i made this one the first year we were finally successful at growin our own sunflower (and we were successful with only ONE that year!). it's her favorite flower and up til then we had always had to buy em so this was most excitin to both of us...of course we get excited about anything we are able to grow from a seed.

i think maybe tomorrow i'll plop up some peeks o my favorite container in action! if you vacation in moland year round you already know what it is!

mini and i are gonna spend some time at vrooman's bookstore - the oldest in town. we have been going since she was two and never stay less than two hours walkin up and down each row so we have to go when we know we have time...but before i go i wanted to address one o the comments left yesterday. someone expressed the opinion that what was takin place over at one o those free-for-all-forums in my honor was not a bashin' - just a conversation. while i truly respect their opinion, i gotta say...i think this is one o those things you gotta experience yourself before you can really know. while it may seem like conversin' to those participatin' in the thing, when it's your own name being 'conversed' about in such a way, it feels more like a bash. but...that's the digital scrappin world for ya....they may like everyone to think it's all one big cozy group lookin out for each other but try doin things a bit differently and they'll do whatever they can to do you in. seems it always does the opposite though...moland has dozens o new residents since the thread first got started...so like mini's daddy always says....doesn't matter what they say about you as long as they are sayin somethin....seems to apply for conversin or bashin so i guess in the end it's all hair splittin!

blah blah blah & tink in her kate

i apologize for not comin by for a blog or more since my last diddy. seems i have had one dilemma after another here in the doo dad den since bloggin up mini's birthday tower. the dilemmas run from the big ones to some silly ones - like that damn squirrel chewin thru the air conditionin tunnel that feeds the cool and much needed air into the doo dad den.....or me spendin time tryin to figure out how the world seems to be goin backwards in the area of gettin along with each other and further and further from the world peace i had hoped for mini to enjoy as an adult...then there was my server turnin downright stingy on it's available bandwidth and creatin a big ol disaster for all moland.

just when i got most dilemmas sorted out and decided to take a day off from non-stop frettin about my lil nephew being told he had to stay in iraq for another six months only three days before he was to come home...wouldn't you know there was another bashin held in my honor over at one o those free for all sites. when this happens my mailbox fills up more and more with every blink o my peepers with people wantin to become members and molandians wantin to issue a call to grab big ol doo dad sticks and do some bashin o the bashers.

all o this has left me lil time for comin around and doin some bloggin even though i have been gatherin many things to share. i hate for you to stop by day after day and find the same o things at the top o the pile so...i decided i'd officially say i won't be back on a regular basis until mini gets back into school the second week o september. i'll try to make it sooner but setting a realistic date to blog daily and tellin you when it will be will keep me from feelin so guilty about not havin enough time just yet.

in between now and the time mini gets back to her readin and writin and lipstick applyin, i will blog up some pictures o this and that....maybe not alot o words but at least some entertainment for your peepers so you won't forget about me. today's peeper is a shot mini caught of tink pokin her head outta one o the many kate spade bags she uses as her hidin places. i have recently been tryin to get her to stop this habit as i have had some embarrassin moments in my travels...reachin in for some dough or a plastic plate with mini's daddy's name bumped into it and findin my fingers wrapped around a chunk o pizza or a crusty ol piece a bread instead. tink has a habit o hiding lil snacks everywhere and lately has decided a kate is as good o place as any. up until now i have been intrigued watchin her tilt her tiny head to the side as if a really good idea just popped into her furry noggin and then go directly to one o her hiding places and come back with somethin i had given her a week or so ago. but reachin in and bein frightened by feel o some mystery meal in the bottom of an already jumbled bag o mo stuff means it is time to convince her to set up her buffet of aged leftovers in one place...it's either that or i will have to move the kates to a location that is too high for her leapin ability.

i'm hopeful that you'll understand my need to limit the words and speak mostly thru images til my mini is not here everyday. it has been such a pleasure spendin the summer with the real thing now that the body snatcher seems to be on summer break. i have my fingers crossed that she won't take mini's body over again when school starts! but if she does i guess it'll give me even more to write about.

safety check!

sorry to have been missin again...it was mini's birthday week and i was quite busy entertainin a daily arrival of 14 year old girls. i need to do some catchin up but wanted to blog up this shot o my trusty assistant checkin out the safety o mini's birthday tower....it passed inspection and mini said it was the best present ever (but not where her daddy could hear as he is in charge o the BIG presents). i will try to blog up some o the things that made up this o so incredible tower over the next few days. of course it's somethin that will soon appear in my friend amy's sweetest shop on the worldwideweb , inspirecompany.com. she's been workin on it for some time and i was delighted to let her experiment with it on my mini....specially since she has provided my end o presents for mini's birthday week for many years now.

gonna go grab me one last piece o the baskin-robbins birthday cake before gettin' to work here in the doo dad den. i may need to add an extra 10 or so miles a day to my workout for some time to come....eatin every meal with 14 year old girls is dangerous. no matter how much i ate, it seemed i was dietin compared to what they were eatin but i do believe it ended up being about twice what i would regularly eat...jo is feelin the extra snackin too - she told me today that when she sits down it feels like she's got her own cushion built in to her backside and that even her tube tops seemed a bit snug and there's nothin' worse than somethin' with an ol' one size fits all label stitched into it not fittin'!

thanks for not givin' up on me durin' the birthday week...can't wait to see you back here on a regular basis again!
