proof the bird flu really exists!

bird flu hits florida trailer park!

it's me again...mo's cousin jo...the pretty one. i was wrong about junior and dickie....at least about the impendin bird flu. mo's mailbox was filled to the brim today, people sendin along this shot - of these poor birds who had fallin victim to the dreaded disease in a florida trailer park. i don't know who to credit for the sad shot but will add it if anyone sends it to me...whoever had to take this shot and force themselves to view this sad scene in person deserves their hard work to be credited!

i have always thought you can tell someone's true character when they can admit they were wrong about somethin. and if nothin else, i am full of character. so...i'll say it again...i was wrong about junior and dickie inventin the bird flu cause they don't like birds. now, if i can only find reason to prove me wrong concernin all the other things i think of this duo, i will be delighted to deliver my sincere apologies for those too, here on mo's blog.

along those lines....since my last spin in the blog created such a stir, i have to admit, i had no idea you had to be so careful about what you blogged about here in blogtown...if i had known politely speakin your mind was such a no no, i would have stepped much more carefully. mo never told me that you could say what you want but only if you remained within the politically correct mode. guess if mo doesn't get all those pesky site and squirrel and rat problems (yes- the rat is back) taken care of soon so she can resume the bloggin, i'll just hafta turn the mo blog over to mini and sign up for one of my own so i don't have ta worry about mo thinkin i took things too far in one direction or another. my last bloggin may have created a stir and even ended up on the bird flu site - my latest claim to fame - but i fear if mini takes over you readers may just be bored to death reading about her appearance concerns. i guess that'll be okay for those who let my writin put em in a snit cause seems to me they like their blog dished up the same way all the time. me and mo can't be counted on for that....no one has ever accused either of us as bein borin!

you know...the day i did the bird flu writin, triple the people stopped on by than usually do....even so, i promise to try to walk the straight and narrow when i drive the blog from now on cause nobody likes to see grown women stoop to name callin - specially just cause they don't like the way someone else says or does somethin. mo and i don't ever let those silly people who stoop to such things bother us cause every time somethin or other we are up to creates the name callers and doo dad bashers to let themselves get all worked up, we end up with even more new friends than normal comin around mo's blog and moland and we like that! seems in all their efforts to make us look bad, they are really doin just the opposite....people only find out about mo through word of mouth and those ol mean words work just as well in the end as all the many nice ones people say too!

looks like i get to keep the keys to the blog a bit longer so i will finally post up those shots of me and mo in our easter bonnets next!

not the bird flu

not the bird flu

...it's me - mo's cousin jo - the pretty one...probably the more talented one too but you wouldn't know that since i don't feel the need to show off on the worldwideweb daily. i like showin off in person myself...but i didn't come here to yakityak about myself this time - altho i know you wish i had! i tell mo all the time she should have let me be the figurehead of the mo monarchy but she says i need to get more doo dads under my belt before mouthin off like i am the better doo dad dispenser... i think when i finally am able to share my talents with the worldwideweb i'll have ta call em jo's jewels so they won't get confused with mo's doo dads...altho if they are as fabulous as those roses i made outta my squirrel eaten pink sponge rollers there will be no way they'll get mistaken for anything but mine!

oops...sorry...i get so excited when i take over the steerin wheel of the blog that i forget why i came in the first place. i'll try to stick to the point...which is...mo is sick. the sort of sick where the house could be taken over by aliens or ME and she could care less cause she feels too bad to open her eyes to rescue mini, gigi, tink or mini's daddy. i am not sure what the ailment that has taken hold of her is but i have an idea. and it's not cause she works all the time doin doo dads and dealin with mini's doins and keepin mini's daddy from drivin us dottie and if not any of those, doin good deeds for anyone who deserves em ( i didn't add myself to that list cause i only enhance her daily life and am in no way a drain on her energy)...all that could probably make someone develop a deadly disease but not mo. no...i do believe she is debilitated due to some dire flu.

i don't think it's that bird flu. i don't even think i believe in the bird flu just yet. i mean....it seems the only time we hear alot about that bird flu is when that o junior who has been misplaced in the white house finds himself in hot water and thinks he can divert our t.v. watchin minds from the misdeed du jour and the best way he knows to do it is to make us think there is a deadly disease flappin it's way to a sky near us any minute. i mean....thanks to junior's direct underling, dickie, we KNOW the crazy group runnin the country HATES birds. in fact, i'm of the mind that the reason, while tryin to kill some of the dangerous flyin creatures, he turned and shot his shootin partner is that the shootin partner discovered this bird flu plot and threatened to expose the whole thing and in a panic he just shot him before givin the whole thing much thought.

plus, we have seen over and over again that neither junior or dickie can be trusted to tell the truth....so...why wouldn't they lie about cute feathery creatures turnin into deadly flu carryin vehicles? i am not sure how this bird badmouthin ties into all their other schemes but it'll come out sooner or later...unfortunately most all their dumb deeds come out LATER. i do believe, though, i read somewhere once that when junior was a lil boy he was almost scared to death stayin up late, watchin t.v., and endin up watchin hitchcock's 'the birds' on the midnight matinee. maybe that's the simple answer to his hatred of birds but whatever it is, mo doesn't have the bird flu.

now...she may have some form of squirrel sickness though. we have had quite a time lately with that tracy squirrel livin above the doo dad den. tracy squirrel now has a batch of mean lil toddler squirrels that she sends out scurryin all over the property to gather things for her. they plum ate my pink sponge rollers to bits and ran off with my bright red cover girl lipstick. then one o the housekeepers told us that when she walks up the driveway toward the house to come to work, at least one of those squirrels jumps up on her and hangs on for dear life and won't let go til she gives it all her change. she has since said she will not be doin any duties that require her to leave the house and makes someone drive her up and down to the street each day. i made her walk up one more time just to prove this unbelievable story to me and was able to snap a shot of it. i had to donate the change to give the squirrel for her to do it though.

but the worst incident so far happened right when i was takin this picture of mo and is when i think mo mighta caught some sorta squirrel sickness. we were gonna take some pictures of the bisque eggs for includin in the directions to make em - the ones mo posted the other day - so we took em outside to lay em in the grass for a more realistic montage. and right when i was shootin the shot here of mo doin the egg placin, outta nowhere one of those tracy squirrel toddlers came barrelin toward mo, grabbed the bisque egg and took off. in all the melee seems he made a little scratch on mo's hand.

don't get me wrong - i am not tryin to follow junior and dickie's seemingly diabolical deed in disaster creatin by makin it seem all squirrels are bad or will make you sick. but just so happens that change payin housekeeper called in sick the last couple o days - says she has some sort of flu. maybe it is just a co-inka-dink that she and mo are both sick and were both victims of the squirrelly antics here in moland but it's worth considerin!

anyway...that's it. just wanted you to know mo hadn't abandoned this here blog or any of ya'll who have written her...she'll be back as soon as she feels better. until then i may just hafta keep doin the blog steerin myself. maybe tomorrow i'll hafta show you the eggs i have been paintin up for the kids while mo is out flat. she would never ask me to of course but i thought i'd help where i can. i must admit i'm pretty good at the egg paintin thing and think you'll wanna do some like mine too. so unless i get lots of comments left here askin me to stay away, i'll do just that.

thanks for stoppin by to see what's up here in moland...hope you aren't too disappointed at findin me, jo - the pretty one - here 'stead of mo!

a year of doo dad'n....

my friend miss leslie, originally uploaded by mo jackson.

well...i must say i am deeply sorry to all of you doo dad devotees who have delivered to me your disturbance and great disappointment in my doo dads previous downloaders for doin their darn best to destroy any sign that this designer's doo dads were ever delivered for great deals of dollars at their doins. seems they put forth a great deal of effort to erase any sign of me ever participatin in their business over the past year. and by doin that, they wiped all your beautiful art work from their gallery if was made up of mostly my doo dads. i apologize to you from the bottom of my heart.

i promise if i had known this is what they had planned i would have alerted you before hand. i don't think they were intendin to cause you any harm. and i doubt they meant to do me harm. i just think their lack of business experience got in the way of good decision makin.

you know, it was almost exactly a year ago that i started designin my doo dads for delivery via download. the place where i chose to place the lil guys was just startin up and there were but a handful of designers. everything was always okay and they were always really good about me comin close to missin the deadline every week. i did fine designin but i'd always save that sortin and filin til the very end and that's when my ADD would be a doo dadder's worst nightmare!

they were always pretty patient about tellin me where i had forgotten somethin or whatever. and while their effort was much always much appreciated i didn't feel i was undeservin cause my doo dads did do the job i promised em they would do! so while i know i was sort of a pain from time to time and maybe didn't exactly fall in line the way they wished i would, i think they felt the extra effort was worth it for em.

and designin those doo dads for all of you really helped me through a really hard year and i have tried to thank each of you i have gotten to know for this and tried to let the duo know as often as i could too. it wasn't just all that time recoverin from takin care of my dear lil mom while she was so sick or even tryin to get over the loss of her. no - that was plenty bad enough.... it just seemed every time things felt a lil better there'd be something else.

if you have never been through losin a parent well let me tell you buster - if you have just one lil ol sibling with a ounce of misbehavin in em then hang on cause you're in for a rollercoaster of a ride! and if you have two bossy sisters you spent most of your life bein scared to ruffle even one feather on, well you better hope you too can find some doo dad type activity to help keep you sane! man oh man - i didn't know whether to laugh or cry half the time but i must admit, i did end up chosing the cryin for the most part.

if you throw in to the mix a dear brother who is tap dancin as fast as he can to keep the oldest one and the youngest one from clawin each others eyes out or joinin in together to murder the middle one (me) in her sleep - well - what you got all together is one really entertainin made for t.v. sort of tacky movie of the week except not one of those they show during sweeps season with the really big stars...no siree...it'd be one of those maybe crammed in after a basketball game or whatever to fill in til the news comes on....with maybe valerie bertinelli...along those lines.

anyway - it was a doozie of a year and as i have said many times, those doo dads helped me make it through. especially when i realized just about the time i was startin to feel like my old self again, that body snatcher had taken over my adored mini mo. and i have never admitted it but guess i might as well do so now - i think she brought a really crazy older snatcher with her that sometimes takes over mini mo's dad. i mean - i have heard that men go through some sort of midlife whatever but i never heard the symptoms includin wantin to buy an old el camino and grow long sideburns and think it might be a good idea to fire the gardeners and do the work himself (that lasted a week before new ones were thankfully located). i guess all that still is better than those men who want to relive their youth during which ginger shows up (the 24 year old with the perfect body who steals husbands for their money) and the two of em drive off in an un-el camino into the sunrise.

so regardless of how it all turned out, the year spent deliverin my doo dads to the downloadin duo was a good one. i do think they mean well and i am hopeful that with some more experience under their belt they will put a little more thought into decisions made that can end up rakin up rukkuses or creatin' dilemmas like that doo dadn' one that could have been avoided if handled earlier and much differently. and think a little more about how it might feel to be encouraged to buy their goods with hard earned money and then do em all up real pretty like and then take the time to carefully place in the gallery they want you to use to help them bring in more doo dad dollars and watch daily to see what other people think of your hard work and get so excited if someone takes the time to add a lil comment or two...maybe they might learn to think about how it might feel to do all that which they really encourage and which they really benefit from....and then how it feels for them to just take it all away without even tellin you first that they were gonna do so.

like i said, i don't think they meant harm - i really think they just didn't think about how it would feel. if they had i really don't think they would have done it the way they did it - and who knows - maybe once they got the emails a few of you were gonna send their way they undid what was done and will say it was just a big misunderstandin. and as for how it appears they feel about me - well - i'm sure they would have figured out how to deal with my outspoken and not always on time ways and me always asking all the questions everybody wanted to ask but were afraid to etc. etc. etc. if i had decided to stay. but when they weren't willin to put forth much of an effort to make me feel i was appreciated for my contribution, i felt it was best to go on and doo dad some place else.

so we'll all just move on from it and wish em luck and wish me luck and us all luck and hope we all live happily ever doo dadn' and digitally after. last thing we need right now is another pea throwin doo dadn' dilemma.

so, to wrap this one all up nice and neat....i am sorry all your beautiful work seemed to disappear because of my choice to move on and i will certainly do my best to make the disappoijntment up to you.... and i thank each and every one of you - includin the downloadin duo - for everything you gave to me over the past year and for all the wonderfully nice things you said to me about my art even when i needed the new glasses but didn't know i needed them and i want you to know hown grateful i am for all the incredible friends this doo dadn' has brought into my life and that i look forward to many more good times to be shared with you.

i am putting as the art for this bit of blog layouts from two wonderful artist's whose work containin my doo dads looks to have been removed from the gallery. they have both been very loyal customers to my art as well as many others at the store and i think it's the least little bitty thing i can do to show them they are much appreciated. thank you miss bette and miss leslie!

holy doo dad derby!

holy doo dad derby! i thought we all decided we weren't going to do this drama into double digit days! i think the only way to achieve the desired deadline for dropping this discussion is to dispense the maybe half dozen definite facts down here. i had hoped it wouldn't be left to me to do but here goes:

• the most recent art with the candies has not been put into the store yet so it cannot be judged for likeness to the one in the store
• the current responders can't compare the two designer's art because the other art in question was removed when the brouhaha was at it's peak but will return shortly.
• the current responders won't be able to compare when it returns as i have been told the samples will be re-done.
• they could not have seen that the pieces from the other designer's various sets, that when placed on top of mine (created long before her's), are somehow almost exactly alike - because if they had they would understand this is about more than 'three candies' as mentioned by one, but that this has been an ongoing concern by not only me. other designers from this store have also had the same concern but have been afraid to bring it up.....i wonder why......or if they did once and were told it wasn't an issue for the store owners, they never tried to address it again.
• they did not know that when i was advised of these similarities by customers at the beginning of the year, i purchased the art to see for myself and then got the opinion of three professionals before making my inquiries to the store.
• the store didn't see this as a problem, even in light of carefully gathered information, though they did give me their consideration. it became more clear to them because of the customer driven brouhaha - that started when i wasn't even around. me blogging it was my way of answering the (now over 300) inquiries i was receiving in support of something i didn't know was happening.
• without the store's support and encouragement, i could not contact the designer privately - talk about brouhaha if that had happened!
• i have asked that my oh so completely all mine primitive photography be removed from the oh so crowded store shelves as i would hate for anyone see it and think it was inspired by the other artist. if removed, i will be giving it out for free to whoever i think can appreciate the originality and hard work that it took to create it. but i will leave the decision up to the store owners. i have told them to do whatever will make this new blip calm down for everyone involve, even if their decision is to remove all of my items.
• if i knew that the store encouraged competition for sales in this way, i would not have chosen them to represent my art. this store says it does not want this to occur and therefore should change their policy to reflect the merchandise allowed so that prospective artists know before hand or approve the previews before they are released - which is, after this customer driven brouhaha, what they are going to do. it is a learning experience for all involved.

those are the honest facts and no one should decide to dole out a description of the duplicatin doo dad dilemma without them. and if you have 'em and still prefer the other designer or decide to desert digital doo dads altogether or deem it all just too much drama to deal with, do it. but don't be damning other deciders who had this information before they doled out their decision.

and to all those who have stood by me loudly or silently or bloggedly - i thank you for doing so and i think the best thing to do now is let these others and the designer have their time in the spotlight to rip me apart however they choose where ever they choose because we know how this came about and we are also a class act and sticks and stones and all that......

in the end, if you do not approve of my feelings or my sharing of them, don't come back and visit my blog where i have enjoyed sharing my thoughts with my customers and my friends. you now know you don't approve of how i see things so i do not want you here. do not return only to have something to take away to cause trouble with at another location. if you want to cause trouble concerning what is said here, do it here. i didn't start this debacle. but i will gladly take the blame if everyone will stop attacking people. while mistakes HAVE been made - but still go unaccounted for by those who made them - there are no bad people involved in the situation to attack.

p.s. i had no idea there was a scanner available that could scan items and the outcome would be the same as what it takes me days to do! i hope that responder will share the name soon! i can't wait to get in my mercedes - oops - forgot that was found offensive...i can't wait to send a member of my household staff to go pick one up for me (hope that's better!).

when you can't steal from family part t

'hot'-penny-candy

ahhhh....wish i could do a page about today's adventures in moland. but i am so behind in getting all the things i have written blogged that i'll just write about them instead. plus, they aren't really appropriate for the scrappers who like life to be presented as if viewed through rose colored specs instead of blue rhinestone encrusted ones.

i am still moving at a pace slower than a sickly snail sliming their way to suck seedlings. spending a good portion of my day crammed into an MRI machine has not helped me become any speedier. who invented that thing anyway? is there anyone who willingly jumps up on that rolling slab and is excited beyond words to say, "hit that button and roll me into this coffin like contraption! and leave me in here for as long as possible - pullleease!" if there is such a person, i hope to never know them.

it doesn't help to attempt to speed the process up by taking a wee bit too much calming potion - no - don't make that big ol' mistake. you may just become so calm you snooze off inside the machine and get a few sleep jerks and then there is the possibilty that they will yell at you through the hidden very loud speaker to scare you awake. if that happens, you may try to sit up quickly in the coffin and damage yourself further than the damage already done which made all the fun possible in the first place. they may then wheel the slab out and reprimand you and make the process start all over, ignoring any tears spilling down your face, thinking it is just more of the sleep drool also present. no - don't try to make the whole thing go easier by taking three quarters of a valium....maybe stick with the half...or better yet - just don't have the MRI at all.

anyway, after doing my best to drive the distance home in more pain than i had while driving THERE, i arrived home to quite a bevy of emails in my mailbox. see, there is this one designer who deems it desirable to duplicate my original ideas and it seems she presented a preview of a real doozy this week. i am beginning to wonder if she knows that so many emails are originated every time she attempts to duplicate my original ideas for doo dad designs? does she think that her desire to duplicate another designers ideas for doo dad designs has not been noticed? i am trying to figure out what she says to herself that makes her decide it is okay to duplicate someone else's original ideas. doesn't she know that the worst thing an artist can do for their reputation is to go this far beyond what is accepted as "inspiration'?

i guess i can't really fault those who buy her attempts to duplicate ideas for my dear doo dads - especially since all the hard work is done by the time she is doin' her duplicating - she gets to spend THAT time finding some extra doo dads to throw in that maybe i didn't have time to do some dads for. but doesn't she have just a bit of a guilty conscience delving into doo dad ideas already done up?

here's another problem with doo dad duplicatin'....nobody really cares if it isn't their doo dads duplicated. the store that sells either the duplicates or the original doo dads doesn't - they act as if they can't see any problem unless the law is broken and i guess an arrest can be made. they aren't much interested in showin' respect to the original designer and all that or what it looks like to the customer. i guess a dollar is a dollar and looks the same no matter whose doo dads - original or duplicated - bring it in to their pocket. most times the customer doesn't mind. they just want some good ol' doo dads for a good price. the other designers won't speak up for you as they worry they'll make someone mad and maybe take a little shine off their own designing. i can certainly respect the last two respondin' the way they do but i must admit, i think the store would want a policy of designers not having any duplicates designed to deliver via download - especially when the duplicator is hurtin' another member of the 'family' they are part of.

but....the digital art world is relatively new and has a rather smallish community still and i'm guessin' no one really wants to call attention to themselves by givin' their open opinion since mean ol' emails could start to fly and some of those group email lists could catch on fire. and you know - i can understand them worryin' about that.

it is not my intention to offend anyone who approves of duplicating so please don't attack me. it would be better if you just don't visit here so i don't make you mad at me ...how's that sound? for those of you who have been so out spoken on my behalf, well - i am speechless....i thank you from the bottom of my heart and as soon as this current duplicatin' doo dad dilemma dies down a bit and i get your permission, i will include you in my doo dadin' devotee hall of fame.

thank you for coming to visit the mo blog and if you have a chance, stop by my new web site...www.mojackson.com. there are some doo dad orphans lookin' for new homes you might see fit to adopt! offerin' them up for you to adopt is just my way of telling you how much you are appreciated - whether you are a fellow doo dadder, a doo dad collector or just a person who came here by accident and could use a few good doo dads.

having cousin jo around....

...means i have someone to help me find everything i'm looking for to create delightful digital downloads to deliver via download.

when jo's trailer park was turned into a super wall mart, i invited her to come stay in our guest house. but she refused the offer because she insists on livin'in that house on wheels and pulls it behind her buick everywhere she goes - even to the 7-11 to pick up cigs. so she ended up at some other relation's curb until we can widen our driveway so she - and her home - can come and go from the back yard. our neighbors would start complainin' if they saw it in the front. at the temporary locale the neighbors all have trailers parked in front AND the back of their houses so what's one more? and there's a super wall mart just around the corner plus a 7-11 right across the street. in fact, jo lets the 7-11 employees come sit in the green and white plastic lawn chairs on the porch during their lunch hour.

anyway, as long as we're finally livin' close to each other we'll be happy. we spend lots o' time going to garage sales since i can find extra special scannable trinkets and treasures. jo is a good travelin' companion if she's got a good thick coat of aquanet on her beehive. we can then leave a window rolled down to suck out her non-stop smoke but all her hairs stay in place. we have to travel far to find desirable doo dads for digitizing - where i live people don't drag their belongins' out into the yard hopin' strangers will stop by and buy them. in fact such a thing is frowned upon.
some of the places we find ourselves in are pretty dangerous. the picture attached was taken by one of the off duty policemen that we often see at the garage sale locations just in case there's gunfire or a fight breaks out. he lost his wife at a garage sale long ago and has dedicated his life to trying to keep others from the same horrible fate. thank goodness for people like him - it makes it slightly less dangerous to attend these things and there's a better chance we'll make it home in one piece, with my doo dad discoveries down deep in my prada bag.

see those mean looking women standing around me? those are the other digital designers i had to fight recently to get the items i used to create my latest collection, nanette. as you can see, we all dress sort of raggedy so that we might get the garage sale giver to feel sorry for us and give us first dibs of the best pick'ns. it hasn't been effective lately though so i might as well go back to wearing my good dry cleaning to these things and send that old dress back to my sister queeny.

this group of designers were the meanest i've seen yet and it is truly a miracle i got out alive with my findings paid for. it wasn't until i got home that i realized the one i fought with for nanette's cosmetics had actually taken a bite right out of the lipstick! don't worry, i was able to fix it for the collection - but can you imagine! i'm sure she was aiming for my fingers which were clutched around the tube. she would have been thrilled to end my addiction for making doo dads! she is one of those who can't think of an original idea if her life depends on it and counts on other designers hard work to use for makin' her own. she needs to think long and hard before attempting to bite off the digits used to make the digital doo dads she does her damndest to duplicate. whatever the case, i better keep my digits down in my gucci coat pockets at future garage sales!

until next time...hopefully with the first ever mo product review!
